165.28 ADMINISTRATION

AND ENFORCEMENT.

   An Administrative Officer designated by the City Council shall administer and enforce this chapter. Such officer may be provided with the assistance of such other persons as the City Council may direct.
   1.   Violations. If the Administrative Officer shall find that any of the provisions of this chapter are being violated, the Administrative Officer shall notify in writing the person responsible for such violations, indicating the nature of the violation and ordering the action necessary to correct it. The Administrative Officer shall order discontinuance of illegal buildings or structures or of additions, alterations, or structural changes thereto; discontinuance of any illegal work being done; or shall take any other action authorized by this Code to insure compliance with or to prevent violation of its provisions.
   2.   Issuance of Permits. The Administrator shall issue all building and occupancy permits, making and maintaining all records associated therewith.
   3.   Conduct Inspections. The Administrator shall conduct inspections of buildings, structures, and the use of land to determine compliance with the terms of this chapter.
   4.   Maintain Records. Maintain permanent and current records as required by this chapter, including (but not limited to) all special exception uses, variances, appeals, and applications therefor.
   5.   Forward Records. Forward to the Planning and Zoning Commission copies of all applications for amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and other matters on which the Commission is required to pass under this chapter. Forward to the Board of Adjustment applications for appeals, variances, special exception uses, and other matters on which the Board is required to pass under this chapter.
   6.   Appeals from Decision of Administrative Officer. Appeals from any decision of the Administrative Officer may be taken to the Board of Adjustment as provided in Section 165.31(2).
