04.- ZONING DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED

17.04.010. - Purpose—Statutory authority.

This title, in pursuance of the authority granted by Title 33, Sections 4721—4729, Louisiana Revised Statutes, is established to promote the health, safety, convenience and welfare of the inhabitants by dividing the Town into zones and regulating therein the uses of land and the construction of buildings with a view to encouraging the most appropriate use of land in the Town.

17.04.020. - Establishment of districts.

For the purpose of this title, the Town is divided into five districts, designated as follows:

Residence A

Residence B

Local business

General business

Heavy industry.

17.04.030. - District boundaries.

The boundaries of these districts are hereby established as shown on the zoning map as amended, which is on file in the office of the Town clerk. The map and all explanatory matter thereon are made a part of this title as if the notations, references and other matters set forth by said map were all fully described herein. Unless otherwise indicated, the district boundary lines are lot lines, the center lines of streets, parkways, alleys, or such lines extended, or are the corporate limit lines. Other lines within blocks are rear or side lot lines, or such lines extended.
