CHAPTER 17

24. - LOCAL BUSINESS DISTRICTS

17.24.010. - Local business districts.

Within all local business districts, the following provisions shall apply:

A.

Uses permitted: Any use permitted or subject to the board of adjustment in a residence B zone; apartment house, grocery and drug stores; theatres; meat and fruit markets; filling stations; automobile parking; barber and beauty shops; tourist courts, offices; hotels; shoe and repair shops; launderettes; and any similar retail business or service which is established for the convenience of the neighboring residents;

B.

Uses prohibited: Laundry and dry cleaning establishments where cleaning and laundering is done on the premises; major auto repair; manufacturing; and use detrimental to a neighborhood;

C.

Building height permitted: Not more than two and one-half stories or 35 feet;

D.

Front yard depth required: 30 feet. In the case of business uses, at least 25 feet shall be off-street parking space;

E.

Side yard width required: None for business uses. For dwellings, same as residence B districts;

F.

Rear yard depth required: None for business uses. For dwellings, same as residence B districts;

G.

Lot area required: For dwellings, same as residence B districts. It is the intent of this title that lots of sufficient size be used by any business to provide adequate parking and loading and unloading space required for the normal operations of the enterprise;

H.

Parking: See Section 17.12.030.
