Residential Districts

§ 175-10 R-1 District use regulations.

The purpose of the R-1 Residential District is to enhance and protect stable and developing single-family neighborhoods.
Uses permitted by right:
Single-family residential.
Uses permitted by special permit of the Village Planning Board:
Bed-and-breakfasts.
Home occupations.
Permitted accessory uses. Accessory structures are only allowed in rear yards and must be set back at least four feet from all property lines.

§ 175-11 R-2 District use regulations.

The purpose of the R-2 Residential District is to allow for neighborhoods of slightly higher density with a mix of single- and two-family homes.
Uses permitted by right:
Single-family residential.
Two-family residential.
Uses permitted by special permit of the Village Planning Board:
Ancillary parking areas.
Bed-and-breakfasts.
Churches or places of worship.
Extended-care medical facilities.
Home occupations.
Multifamily dwellings.
Permitted accessory uses: Accessory structures are only allowed in rear yards and must be set back at least four feet from all property lines.
