Sec. 66-611.- Home occupation.

Any business, occupation, trade or profession in which the principal income generating work of the business, occupation, trade or profession is conducted principally within a dwelling unit or accessory structure by the inhabitants of the dwelling unit, which business use is incidental and secondary to the use of the property for dwelling purposes. Furthermore, in order to be classified as a home occupation, the business, occupation, trade or profession must satisfy the following requirements:

(1)

That no more than 25 percent of the total floor area of the dwelling or accessory structure is used for such purposes;

(2)

That there is no outside or window display;

(3)

That no merchandise or commodity is sold on the premises;

(4)

That no mechanical or electrical equipment is installed or used other than is normally used for domestic, professional, or hobby purposes, or for infrequent consultation or emergency treatment. Furthermore, that no equipment or process shall be used in such home occupation which creates noise, vibration, glare, fumes, odors or electrical interferences detectable to the normal senses off the lot. In the case of electrical interference, no equipment or process shall be used which creates visual or audible interference in any radio or television receivers off the premises, or causes fluctuations in line voltage off the premises;

That no person not a resident of said dwelling is employed in connection with the home occupation;

(6)

That there shall be no change in the outside appearance of the building or premises, or other visible evidence of the conduct of such home occupation;

(7)

That there shall be no outside storage of anything connected with the home occupation, except one vehicle used in connection with the business. Such vehicle may be no larger than a passenger van or pick-up truck;

(8)

That there shall be no signage to identify the home occupation;

(9)

That any customer parking shall be contained within the property boundaries and at no time shall customer parking be on the street right of way or adjoining properties;

(10)

That there shall be no significant increase in traffic as a result of the home occupation.
