CHAPTER 18
28 C-G GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONE
§ 18.28.010 Establishment.
There is hereby established a zone which shall hereinafter be known as the "C-G general commercial zone," and which shall function and serve as set out in this chapter.

§ 18.28.020 Intent and purpose.
The intent and purpose of the C-G general commercial zone is to designate areas within the city for providing a full range and wide variety of retail commercial stores and service establishments that are not dependent on marketing and trading area support solely within the corporate boundaries of the city, but also rely on consumer purchasing power outside the established community.

§ 18.28.030 Applicability-Criteria.
A.
The C-G zone is a land use classification which, in part, assists in the implementation of the commercial land use element of the general plan. It is a zone classification designed to be applied in those areas of the community where the greatest variety and range of commercial uses can be amassed largely dependent on their respective interrelationships for providing goods and services to an unlimited source of consumer purchasing power.

Application of the C-G zone need not be as definitive as the C-N and C-C zones, but must be protected from uses of land that are oriented and more closely associated and compatible with industrial activities.

Uses of land which do not qualify and which are not specifically permitted in the C-G zone are hereby expressly prohibited.
