32 General Commercial Zone C-2

16.32.010 Uses Permitted Outright

In a C-2 zone, the following uses and their accessory uses are permitted outright, subject to the applicable provisions of Chapters 16.72, 16.76, 16.80 and 16.96 of this title:

  1. A use permitted outright in the C-1 zone;
  2. Automobile, truck or trailer sales, service, storage, rental or repair;
  3. Boat or marine equipment sales, service, storage, rental or repair;
  4. Cabinet or similar woodworking shop;
  5. Cold storage or ice processing plant;
  6. Feed or seed store;
  7. Implement, machinery or heavy equipment sales, service, storage or rental;
  8. Laboratory or equipment;
  9. Lumber or building materials sales and storage;
  10. Machine, welding, sheet metal, or similar metal working shop;
  11. Outdoor commercial amusement or recreation establishment such as miniature golf course or drive-in theater, but not including uses such as race track or automobile speedway;
  12. Plumbing, heating, electrical or paint contractors storage, repair or sales shop;
  13. Processing, packing or storage of food or beverage, excluding those products involving rendering of fats or oils, or slaughtering;
  14. Tire retreading or vulcanizing;
  15. Truck terminal, freight depot;
  16. Upholstery shop;
  17. Warehouse or storage area;
  18. Wholesale establishment;
  19. Car wash;

16.32.020 Conditional Uses Permitted

In a C-2 zone, the following uses and their accessory uses may be conditionally permitted subject to the applicable provisions of Chapters 16.72, 16.76, 16.80, 16.84 and 16.96 of this title:

  1. A use permitted as a conditional use in the R-3 zone, except uses permitted outright in the C-1 zone;
  2. Recreation vehicle park;
  3. Kennel;
  4. Animal hospital;
  5. Processing or packing provided that the use does not create a public nuisance or an unreasonable hazard to health or property because of excessive noise, smoke, odor or dust, or because it constitutes a fire, explosion or other physical hazard. (Ord. 763 § 2, 2016)

16.32.030 Standards

In addition to standards required in this section and in Chapters 16.72, 16.76, 16.80, 16.84 and 16.96 of this title, the standards applicable in the C-1 zone shall apply in the C-2 zone:

  1. All yards abutting a lot in a residential zone shall be a minimum of twenty (20) feet.
  2. Outdoor storage abutting or facing a street or highway or a residential zone shall be screened with either a sight obscuring fence or a buffer strip of vegetation.
  3. Drainage: The drainage requirements applicable in the C-1 zone shall apply in the C-2 zone.
