CHAPTER 17

28 - R-1 FARMING DISTRICT

17.28.010 - Permitted uses.

In the R-1 farming district no land shall be used and no building shall be erected or structurally altered, except for one or more of the following uses:

A.

Single-family dwelling;

B.

Two-family or duplex dwelling;

C.

Church;

D.

School, elementary and high;

E.

Park and playground;

F.

Garden;

G.

Home occupation;

H.

Multiple-family dwelling;

I.

Boarding and rooming houses, tourist home;

J.

Group or rowhouses;

K.

Undertaking establishment;

L.

Hospitals and clinics;

M.

Institutions of an educational, philanthropic or eleemosynary nature;

N.

Accessory buildings and uses when located on the same lot and not involving the conduct of a business, including private garages, but if such accessory building is not attached to the main building it shall be located not less than sixty feet from the front line and not less than one and one-half feet from the rear line and side lines of the lot. Garages and other accessory buildings shall be located not less than five feet from the side line of the lot;

O.

One sign on each lot not exceeding twelve square feet in area, appertaining to the lease or sale of a building or premises;

P.

Golf courses, except miniature courses and driving tees operated for commercial purposes;

Q.

Farming;

R.

Temporary buildings incidental only to the construction of a permitted use.

17.28.020 - Subdivisions.

All subdivisions shall comply with Chapter 17.12.
