60 - FENCES, WALLS AND HEDGES
(a)
Front Yards. No fence or woodpile shall be constructed to exceed four feet six inches in height. Furthermore, no fence or woodpile shall be constructed to exceed more than three feet in height if such fence has parts or solid members which constitute more than one-third of the total surface area of the fence.
(b)
Side and Rear Yards. No fence or woodpile shall exceed six feet in height, except around a swimming pool.
(c)
Within a radius of eighty feet of the intersection of the centerline of any street, no obstruction, other than a bare tree trunk, post, or column which does not exceed twelve inches in its greatest cross-section, shall be constructed or permitted between the height of three feet and the height of ten feet.
(d)
Wire mesh or other open form of fencing of any height in excess of these provisions may be permitted where necessary for the public health, safety, or welfare, or where necessary for special security purposes; provided, that such fencing will not adversely affect adjacent property. Such determination and permission shall be made by means of a conditional use permit.
(e)
No hedges shall be more than six feet high.
(f)
All hedges, shrubs, bushes and trees shall be maintained so as to not overgrow the sidewalks and thus be a nuisance to foot traffic.
