CHAPTER 7

B-1 GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT

10-7-1: REGULATIONS ESTABLISHED:

The regulations set forth in this chapter, or set forth elsewhere in this title when referred to in this chapter, are the regulations in the B-1 General Commercial District. (Ord. 487, 1-7-2002, eff. 2-6-2002)

10-7-2: PURPOSE:

The purpose of the B-1 District is to provide sufficient space in appropriate locations for retail, office, and commercial activities generally serving a wide area and located particularly along existing major thoroughfares where a general mixture of commercial and service activities now exist. 10-7-3: PERMITTED USES:

A building or premises shall be used only for the following purposes:
   Advertising sign or billboard when located at least fifty feet (50') from any R District.
   Automobile service establishment.
   Automobile trailer or boat display and sales room.
   Bowling Alley.
   Business or commercial school.
   Dancing or Music Academy.
   Display room for merchandise to be sold at wholesale where merchandise sold is stored elsewhere.
   Dyeing and cleaning establishment or laundry.
   Farm Implement display and sales room.
   Filling Station.
   Grocery store, frozen food locker.
   Hotel, motel.
   Milk distributing station.
   Motel or tourist home.
   Painting, plumbing or tinsmithing shop.
   Parking or public garage.
   Physician office, medical clinic, veterinarian or animal hospital or riding academy; provided, that no such building, kennel, or exercise runway shall be closer than fifty (50') feet to any R District.
   Plant nursery or greenhouse.
   Printing shop.
   Radio or television broadcasting station or studio.
   Restaurant, drive-in restaurant, or other similar place of entertainment or amusement.
   Sale, leasing or rental of automobiles, trucks, recreational vehicles, boats or motorcycles, including accessory sale of parts and equipment for, and accessory service and repair to such vehicles.
   Theatre.
   Tire sales and services, including vulcanizing.
   Upholstering shop, not involving furniture manufacturing.
   Used car sales or storage lot.
   Other general retail, service or repair establishments of similar character not inconsistent with this chapter.
   Dwellings on any floor above the first floor.
   Accessory building or use customarily incidental to any of the above uses. All dumpsters, trash receptacles, and other trash service areas shall be located within the side or rear yard to minimize the effect of their appearance from any street, freeway, expressway and neighboring property. 10-7-4: HEIGHT, AREA AND SETBACKS:

There shall be compliance with the height and area regulations and setback requirements set forth in chapter 9 of this title. (Ord. 487, 1-7-2002, eff. 2-6-2002; amd. 2017 Code)

10-7-5: OFF STREET PARKING AND LOADING:

Off street parking and loading spaces shall be provided in accordance with the requirements for specific uses set forth in chapter 11 of this title. (Ord. 487, 1-7-2002, eff. 2-6-2002; amd. 2017 Code)
