Chimneys, spires, steeples, belfries, water towers, cupolas and similar architectural features and ornaments shall be exempt from the building height restrictions contained in Schedule B[1] provided they are normally appurtenant to a building and proportionate in size. Mechanical equipment such as HVAC equipment and other roof-mounted and appurtenant equipment and spaces such as elevator elements shall also be exempt provided they are adequately and appropriately screened. Stealth technology shall be used where feasible.
