17.20.010 Designated

For the purposes of this title, the City is divided into several zoning districts, as follows:

17.20.020 Zoning Map

  1. The boundaries of each of the zoning districts are established as shown on the map or maps enti­tled “Zoning Map of Hyrum City, Utah,” or as hereafter amended. The map or maps are attached to the ordinance codified herein, which is on file with the City, and all boundaries, notations and data shown therein are made by this reference as much a part of this title as if fully described and detailed herein. The map or maps shall be filed in the custo­dy of the City Recorder and may be examined by the public, subject to any reasonable regulations estab­lished by the City Recorder.
  2. District boundary lines not established by legal description shall be determined as follows:
    1. Boundaries indicated as approximately fol­lowing the centerlines of streets, alleys or easements shall be construed to follow such centerlines.
    2. Boundaries following platted lot lines shall be construed as following such lot lines.
    3. Boundaries indicated as following City limits shall be construed as following the City limits.
    4. Boundaries indicated as following railroad lines, irrigation canals, public parks or lands, shall be construed as following the centerlines of the respective rights-of-way.
    5. Boundaries indicated as parallel to or extensions of features on the map shall be so con­strued. Distances not specifically designated shall be determined by the scale of the map.
    6. Whenever any street, alley or other public way is vacated by official action of the City Council, or whenever such area is approved for building pur­poses, the adjoining zoning district lines shall be automatically extended to the centerline of such vacated street, alley or public way, and all the area so involved shall then and henceforth be sub­ject to the zoning requirements of the extended zones.
