13.15 Multiple

Residential Districts MR

13.15.010 Intent And Purpose

The multiple residential designation allows multi-family developments of apartments, condominiums, and other multi-family units.

13.15.020 Permitted Uses

The following are permitted uses in any MR district:

  1. All uses permitted in the RM district;
  2. Apartments;
  3. Condominiums;
  4. Senior housing;
  5. Family food production; and
  6. Any other uses deemed by the Planning and Zoning Commission to be in harmony with listed permitted uses and the purpose and intent of this district.

13.15.030 Conditional Uses

The following uses may be permitted subject to a conditional use permit:

  1. All uses subject to a conditional use permit in the RM district; and
  2. Any other uses deemed by the Planning and Zoning Commission to be in harmony with listed conditional uses and the purpose and intent of this district.
  3. One dog shall be allowed per 2,000 sqft-up to a maximum of 4 dogs per county recorded lot.

13.15.040 Prohibited Uses

The following are specifically prohibited in this district:

  1. Commercial uses;
  2. Industrial uses

The maximum density in the MR district shall be as follows:

13.15.060 General Development Standards

Notes:

  1. The minimum side yard which faces the street on a corner lot shall be 15' for main buildings.
    1. Driveways, garages and accessory buildings that are directly accessed from the side street shall maintain a minimum setback of 25 feet.
  2. Acessory sturctures may be built at the rear property line if that property abuts a Milford City Alleyway and care is taken to maintain a continuing drainage system that empties onto the subject property. Otherwise, accessory buildings may encroach into the rear yard, but in no case shall an accessory structure be closer than 5 feet to the rear property line.

Other Standards:

  1. Architectural features such as cornices, chimneys and bell towers may exceed the height limit;
  2. Design review shall be required for projects of four or more units;
  3. Decorative walls shall be required along side and rear property lines. No access gates shall be constructed through said walls or fences.
  4. Maximum site coverage shall be 50%;
  5. Parking area for one vehicle shall be required for each unit; and,
  6. Common usable open space shall be provided at a minimum rate of 350 square feet per unit. Driveways and parking areas are excluded from usable open space.
