ARTICLE XXII

ENFORCEMENT, VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES

Sec. 22-1.- Enforcement.

It shall be the duty of the building inspector to enforce this ordinance. Said building inspector shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the city council in the same manner as other city employees are appointed and subject to any general provisions affecting such employees.

Sec. 22-2. - Violation and penalties.

Any person, firm or corporation who violates, disobeys, omits, neglects or refuses to comply with or who resists the enforcement of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than $200.00 or imprisoned for not to exceed one month, or both, for each offense. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.

Sec. 22-3. - Injunction.

In case any building or structure is erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted or maintained or any building, structure or land is used in violation of this ordinance, the city, in addition to other remedies, may institute any appropriate action or proceedings to prevent such unlawful erection, maintenance or use, to restrain, correct or abate such violation, to prevent the occupancy of said building, structure or land or to prevent any illegal act, conduct, business or use in or about such premises.
