200 - OFFICIAL ZONING DISTRICT MAP

Sec. 12.201 - Adoption

By adoption of this zoning ordinance the city is divided into zones or districts, as shown on the official zoning map, which together with all explanatory information contained thereon, is incorporate into this ordinance. The official zoning map illustrates and governs the zoning designations for property within the city limits.

Sec. 12.202 - Designation Of Official Zoning Map

The official zoning map shall be identified by the signature of the mayor, attested by the city secretary, dated and bearing the seal of the city under the following:

"This is to certify that this is the official zoning map referred to in the Code of Ordinances, City of Orange, Texas."

Sec. 12.203 - Changes In Zoning Districts Boundaries Or To The Official Zoning Map

If in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, changes are made in district boundaries or other matters portrayed on the official zoning map, such changes shall be made on the official zoning map promptly after the amendment has been approved by the city council. The amending ordinance shall provide that the changes or amendments shall not become effective until they have been duly entered upon the official zoning map. The entry shall be signed by the mayor and attested by the city secretary.

To changes of any nature shall be made on the official zoning map or any information shown thereon except in conformity with the procedures as set forth in this ordinance. Any unauthorized change of whatever kind by any person or persons shall be considered a violation of this code and punishable as provided herein.

Sec. 12.204 - Damage Or Destruction

If the official zoning map becomes damaged, destroyed, lost, or difficult to interpret because of the nature or number of changes and additions, the city council may, by resolution, adopt a new official zoning map which shall supersede the prior official zoning map. The new official zoning map may correct drafting or other errors or omissions in the prior map, but no such correction shall have the effect of amending this zoning ordinance or any subsequent amendment hereto.

Any such new official zoning map shall be identified by the signature of the mayor, attested by the city secretary, dated and bearing the seal of the city under the following words:

"This is to certify that this official zoning map supersedes and replaces the official zoning map adopted, as part of Ordinance No. of the City of Orange, Texas."

Sec. 12.205 - Location And Maintenance

The official zoning map shall be maintained in the City of Orange Department of Planning and Community Development. Copies of the map or portions of the map are available from the department with payment of the applicable fee.
