Numbering
All houses, residences and places of business within the city of Selah shall be numbered in accordance with the plat on file with the public works director of the city of Selah, known as the "numbering plat," which plat designates the number that each residence, house and place of business shall bear. That all homes, buildings, residences and places of business hereafter constructed shall be assigned such number as the public works director of the city of Selah shall designate in the permit granted for such construction. It shall be the duty of the city public works director of the city of Selah to assign the correct street number as provided in the numbering plat upon the request of any owner, occupant, lessee or tenant. Such request shall be in such form and shall contain such information as the city public works department shall request. (Ord. 1636, § 5, 2004.)
It shall be the continuous responsibility the owner, agent, occupant, lessee or tenant or any residence, building or parts of building in the city of Selah having an entrance fronting on a public street to obtain and maintain a street number thereof as herein provided. Such number shall be displayed in a conspicuous place over or near the principal street entrance, entrances, door or gate in such manner that it is easy to find and clearly visible from the street. Each figure of the number shall be at least three inches in height and shall be of a color that will contrast with the background. (Ord. 1636, § 6, 2004.)
Any owner, agent, occupant, lessee or tenant of any residence, building or parts of building in the city of Selah, who fails to affix and maintain such numbers shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and fined in a sum not to exceed one hundred dollars. (Ord. 1636, § 7, 2004.)
