Parcels of 35 acres or more in the A-1 and BC zoning district are exempt from regulations on the numbers of dogs and cats provided that the keeping of such animals does not constitute the operation of a boarding or breeding kennel. Approval of a conditional use permit is required for the establishment of a boarding or breeding kennel in the A-1 district. Kennels are prohibited in the BC district. For the A-1 and BC districts, a) the number of dogs and cats stated in Figure 3-8 shall apply to parcels of 20 acres, up to 35 acres; and b) for parcels of less than 20 acres, the number of dogs and cats allowed to be kept shall comply with the number per zoning district having parcel sizes comparable to the size of the parcel on which the dogs and cats are proposed to be kept.

On parcels of less than 20 acres in the A-1 zoning district, the number of livestock animals allowed to be kept shall comply with the number per zoning district having parcel sizes comparable to the size of the parcel on which the livestock is proposed to be kept, and provided a Nonconforming Parcel Plan Review has been approved for the property.
