All candidates for elective municipal offices shall be nominated under the provisions of Chapter 45 of the Code of Iowa.

   Nominations for elective municipal offices of the City may be made by nomination paper or papers signed by not less than 50 eligible electors, residents of the City.

   The name of a candidate placed upon the ballot by any other method than by petition shall not be added by petition for the same office.

   Nomination papers shall include a petition and an affidavit of candidacy. The petition and affidavit shall be substantially in the form prescribed by the State Commissioner of Elections, shall include information required by the Code of Iowa, and shall be signed in accordance with the Code of Iowa.

   The time and place of filing nomination petitions, the presumption of validity thereof, the right of a candidate so nominated to withdraw and the effect of such withdrawal, and the right to object to the legal sufficiency of such petitions, or to the eligibility of the candidate, shall be governed by the appropriate provisions of Chapter 44 of the Code of Iowa.

   The candidates who receive the greatest number of votes for each office on the ballot are elected, to the extent necessary to fill the positions open.

   The City is divided into six voting precincts described as follows:

   1.   Precinct Number 1.

      All of the area within the corporate boundaries of the City lying north of 8 th Street SW, west of 5 th Avenue SW, south of 3 rd and 4 th Street SW, west of 12 th Avenue SW/NW, south of Adventureland Drive, west of 17 th Avenue NW, and north of Interstate 80.

   2.   Precinct Number 2.

      All of the area within the corporate boundaries of the City lying south of Interstate 80, west of 1 st Avenue North and South, north of the Iowa Interstate Rail Road, north of 3 rd Street and 4 th Street SW, east of 12 th Avenue SW/NW, north of Adventureland Drive, and east of 17 th Avenue NW.

   3.   Precinct Number 3.

      All of the area within the corporate boundaries of the City lying south of Interstate 80, west of 14 th Avenue NE/SE, north of Lake Shore Drive SE, east of 10 th Avenue SE, north of 13 th Street SE, east of 1 st Avenue South, north of 8 th Street SW, east of 5 th Avenue SW, south of the Iowa Interstate Rail Road, and east of 1 st Avenue North.

   4.   Precinct Number 4.

      All of the area within the corporate boundaries of the City lying south of 8 th Street SW and west of 5 th Avenue SW.

   5.   Precinct Number 5.

      All of the area within the corporate boundaries of the City lying east of 5 th Avenue SW, south of 8 th Street SW, and west of 1 st Avenue South, except the northeast ¼ of the southwest ¼ of Section 25, Township 79 North, Range 23 West.

   6.   Precinct Number 6.

      All of the area within the corporate boundaries of the City lying east of 1 st Avenue South, south of 13 th Street SE, west of 10 th Avenue SE, south of Lake Shore Drive SE, and east of 14 th Avenue SE.
