CHAPTER 17

64 - SERVICE STATIONS

17.64.010 - Service stations.

A.

Intent and Purpose. The following general development standards are set forth in order to assure that service stations in the various zones of the city will be developed in a uniform and orderly manner which will promote the public health, safety, comfort, convenience and general welfare. These development requirements shall be in addition to the property development standards set forth in each zone and in accordance with the provisions of Section 17.60.010.

Off-Street Parking and Storage.

Parking. One space for each employee on the maximum working shift plus one space for each, but no less than five.

Storage. Two spaces for each stall, but no less than six. Any amount of vehicles in excess of this total or any vehicles inoperative for more than ten (10) days shall be stored in an approved off-site area. The exterior of any such vehicle shall be kept in a clean, or deny, intact condition. No storage facility shall occupy any portion of a required front yard. Off-street storage facilities shall be provided in accordance with the provisions of Section 17.54.010.

C.

Landscaping. A minimum of five percent of the lot area shall be landscaped with suitable plants, etc. Said landscaping shall include a minimum four foot wide planter along the street side frontages, excluding driveways. All plantings shall be enclosed by a minimum six inch high concrete curb or masonry planter. All street side planting, excepting street trees, shall be of such type and maintained to provide clear visibility from thirty-six (36) inches above the top of the curb.

D.

Trash Enclosure. An enclosure shall be provided for the storage of refuse bins, etc.

E.

Vending Machines. Location of vending machines, not within an enclosed building, shall be subject to architectural review.
