PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD6
A planning and zoning board is hereby established which shall consist of ten (10) members.

The planning and zoning board shall establish a schedule of regular meetings at such intervals as the board may determine, but not less frequently than once every month. Special meetings may be convened by the chairperson, or vice-chairperson in the absence of the chairperson, upon giving at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice to the members of the board. A meeting may also be called by written notice signed by three (3) members of the board. The board at any hearing or meeting may schedule a future hearing or meeting date.

The planning and zoning board shall have the following authority and duties:
(A)
To act in an advisory capacity to the city council on questions relating to zoning, and to conduct investigations on matters or proposals to change zoning regulations, and report its findings and recommendations on such proposals to the city council.
(B)
Recommend to the city council such amendments to this ordinance as the board may deem proper and expedient or necessary to clarify or to carry into effect the purposes thereof.
(C)
Hear applications and submit recommendations to the city council on the following:
(1)
Proposed change of the permitted use of any specifically designated property.
(2)
Proposed amendments to the zoning code.
(3)
Proposed subdivision plats.
