1. Purpose. The C-2 (Outlying Commercial) District is intended and designed for businesses, professions, and occupations which are located in areas other than the Central Business District, and require off-street parking areas and loading spaces.
2. Permitted uses. Principal permitted uses in the C-2 District are as follows:
A. Apartments above first story level of a store or shop, with off-street/on-site parking.
D. Automobile accessory stores.
E. Automobile, commercial truck and trailer, recreational vehicle, motorcycle, and boat establishments for display, hire, rental, and sales (including sales lots) and truck terminals.
F. Automobile, commercial truck and trailer, recreational vehicle, motorcycle, and boat service/repair establishments. This subsection shall not be construed to include automobile, tractor, or machinery wrecking and rebuilding and used parts yards.
G. Bakeries or bakery outlets.
H. Banks, savings and loan associations, and similar financial institutions.
I. Barbershops and beauty parlors.
J. Bicycle shops, sales and repair.
L. Business offices, professional offices, and studios.
M. Business and vocational schools.
O. Carpenter and cabinet-making shops.
P. Car wash with truck bay.
R. Clothes cleaning and laundry pick-up stations.
T. Collection office of public utility.
U. Commercial parking lots and garages.
V. Confectionery stores, including ice cream or snack bars.
W. Dairy stores, retail only.
Z. Dental and medical clinics.
BB. Drive-in restaurants.
GG. Gasoline filling stations.
II. Grocery stores, including supermarkets.
MM. Household appliances, sale, and repair.
NN. Jewelry stores and watch repair shops.
OO. Launderettes, coin-operated dry cleaning establishments, and dry cleaning or pressing establishments using only nonflammable solvents.
PP. Lawn mower repair shops.
QQ. Locker plant for storage and retail sales only.
RR. Leather goods stores.
TT. Music stores and music studios.
UU. Office supplies shops.
VV. Paint and wallpaper store.
XX. Photographic studios, printing and developing establishments.
YY. Plumbing and heating shops.
AAA. Printing and lithographing shops.
BBB. Private clubs and lodges.
CCC. Publishing and engraving establishments.
DDD. Radio and television sales and repair shops.
EEE. Rental storage buildings.
FFF. Restaurants and taverns.
HHH. Shoe and hat repair shops.
III. Sporting goods stores.
JJJ. Tailor and dressmaking shops.
PPP. Video equipment rental and sales.
QQQ. Accessory uses and buildings which are customarily incidental to the above stated uses but not including any use that may become obnoxious or offensive.
3. Height regulations. Height regulations in the C-2 District are as follows:
A. Principal uses: three stories or 45 feet, whichever is lower.
B. Accessory uses: one story or 18 feet, whichever is lower.
C. Exterior or roof sign: exterior or roof signs shall not exceed 16 feet above the roof line.
4. Area regulations. The minimum regulations that shall be observed in the C-2 outlying commercial District are set out in Table 165.14.
