For each and every violation of the provisions of this chapter, the owner, contractor, or other persons interested as general agent, architect, engineer, land surveyor, building contractor, owner, tenant, or any other persons who commit, take part, or assist in any violation of this chapter or who maintain any building or premises or uses of any land in violation of this chapter, shall, for each and every violation, be imprisoned for a period not exceeding 30 days, or be fined not exceeding $100.00, or both, at the discretion of the judicial officer before whom such a conviction may be heard. Whenever such person has been officially notified by the Zoning Officer or by service of a summons in a prosecution, or in any other official manner, that he is committing a violation, each day’s continuance of such violation after such notification shall constitute a separate offense, punishable by a like fine or penalty.
