- Appeal board.
7.100. The local legislative body may provide for the appointment of a Board of Appeal in the regulations and restrictions adopted pursuant to the authority of R.S. 33:471 through R.S. 33:4729, may provide that the Board of Aldermen may determine and vary the application in harmony with their general purpose and intent and in accordance with general or specific rules contained therein.
In the absence of a Board of Appeal, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen will serve as the Board of Appeal.
The Board of Aldermen shall hear and decide upon appeals for variances where exceptional and peculiar hardship would be caused by enforcement of the regulations in this ordinance, and where such variance would not substantially deviate from the intent of this ordinance. Hardships cannot be self-created.
