For the purpose of this ordinance, the area of the City of Huntsville, Alabama, is hereby divided into districts as follows:
Residence 1 district
Residence 1-A district
Residence 1-B district
Residence 1-C district
Residence 2 district
Residence 2-A district
Residence 2-B district
Residence 2-C district
Neighborhood business C-1 district
Neighborhood business C-1A district
Neighborhood business C-2 district
General business C-3 district
Highway business C-4 district
Commercial recreation C-5 district
Central business C-B district
Light industry district
Heavy industry district
Planned industrial district
Airport industrial park district
Commercial industrial park district
Heavy manufacturing district
Industrial park district
Research park district
Research park west district
Research park applications district

The boundaries and designations of the districts provided for herein are hereby established as shown on the maps identified by the title, "City of Huntsville, Alabama, Zoning Maps," which maps shall be further identified by the numbers and effective dates of the adopting and amending ordinances.
The official ordinances defining district boundaries and bearing the signature of the Mayor of the City of Huntsville shall be on file in the office of the city clerk-treasurer. The official zoning maps shall be on file in the planning office.
Unless otherwise specifically shown on the Official Zoning Maps of the City of Huntsville, the boundaries of districts are lot lines, the centerlines of streets or alleys or such lines extended, railroad rights-of-way, natural boundary lines such as natural or artificial watercourses, the corporate limit lines as existed at the time of enactment or amendment of this ordinance.
Questions concerning the exact location of district boundary lines shall be decided by the board of adjustment constituted as provided in article 92 hereof.
