[Amended 8-19-2008; 11-1-2016]
In addition to the districts into which the Town is divided under §
500-6, there is hereby created an overlay district designated the Floodplain District. The special flood hazard areas (SFHA) identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in its Flood Insurance Study (FIS) for the Town of Killingworth, dated August 28, 2008, and accompanying Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) and/or Flood Boundary and Floodway Maps (FBFM), dated August 28, 2008, and other supporting data, and any subsequent revisions thereto, are adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this regulation. Since mapping is legally adopted by reference into this regulation it must take precedence when more restrictive until such time as a map amendment or map revision is obtained from FEMA. The SFHA includes any area shown on the FIRM as Zones A, A1-30, AE, AO, and AH, including areas designated as a floodway on a FIRM or FBFM. Said district designation is in addition to and superimposed upon those districts into which said area is divided under §
500-6. Except as otherwise provided herein, the prohibitions, limitations and restrictions prescribed in Article
XV are in addition to the prohibitions, limitations and restrictions upon land use otherwise prescribed in these Zoning Regulations.
