Sec. 118-3

Districts.

In order to classify, regulate and restrict the location of buildings erected or structurally altered for specified uses, and to regulate and limit the height and bulk of buildings hereafter erected or structurally altered, to regulate and determine the area of yards and other open spaces about buildings, the City of Ottawa and the area within the one and one-half mile extraterritorial jurisdiction of the city is hereby divided into 13 districts known as:

"A-1" single family residence district.

"A-2" single family and two-family residence district.

"B" single family, two-family and multifamily residence district.

"C-1" small business district.

"C-2" general business district.

"C-3" special business district.

"C-4" central core business district.

"C-5" secondary central business district.

"C-6" downtown transition district.

"D" commercial and light industrial district.

"E" industrial district.

"M" mining.

"R" rural district.

"POS" park and open space district.

The boundaries of the above described districts are shown upon the map incorporated herein by reference and designated as "Zoning District Map of the City of Ottawa, Illinois," which together with the key and other information indicated on said map, as amended from time to time, is hereby expressly made a part of this chapter.
