ARTICLE XXIV

ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES

§ 25.233 GENERALLY.

   All departments, officials and public employees of the city which are vested with the duty or authority to issue permits or licenses shall conform to the provisions of this chapter and shall issue no such permit or license for uses, buildings or purposes where the same would be in conflict with the provisions of this chapter.

§ 25.234 DUTY OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR AND OTHERS.

   It shall be the duty of the Community Development Director, delegated representative, and of the officers of the city herein or otherwise charged by law with the enforcement of this chapter to enforce this chapter and all the provisions of the same.

§ 25.235 PENALTY FOR VIOLATION; CONTINUING OFFENSES.

   Any person, whether as principal, agent, employee, tenant, owner or otherwise, violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction and punished as more specifically set forth in this code of ordinances.

§ 25.236 PROHIBITED STRUCTURES AND THE LIKE DECLARED NUISANCE; ABATEMENT.

   Any structure set up, erected, moved or maintained or any use of property contrary to the provisions of this chapter shall be declared to be unlawful and a public nuisance and the City Attorney shall immediately commence action or actions for the abatement, removal and enjoinment thereof in the manner provided by law, and shall take other steps and shall apply to such court or courts as may have jurisdiction to grant the relief as will abate and remove the structures or use and restrain and enjoin any person from setting up, erecting, building, moving or maintaining any structure or using any property contrary to the provisions of this chapter.

§ 25.237 REMEDIES DECLARED CUMULATIVE.

   All remedies provided for in this chapter shall be cumulative and not exclusive.
