The purpose of this chapter is to create the office of City Administrator and to set forth the duties and powers relative thereto.
25.02 OFFICE CREATED.
The office of the City Administrator is hereby created. The office shall be filled by a resolution adopted by majority vote of the Council. The person appointed shall hold office at the pleasure of the Council and shall be subject to removal by a resolution adopted by an affirmative four-fifths vote of the Council. The qualifications for the position shall include competency through education or experience to perform the duties placed upon the Administrator.
25.03 COMPENSATION.
The City Administrator shall receive such compensation as may be established by resolution of the Council.
25.04 DUTIES GENERALLY.
The general duties of the office are to coordinate and supervise the activities, policies, and procedures of the City. The Administrator is directly responsible to the Council for the administration of municipal affairs as directed by the Council. A specific job description for the position of City Administrator shall be adopted by separate resolution of the Council and may be changed from time to time as may be warranted.
25.05 BOND.
The administrator shall be bonded for the performance of duties in favor of the City, in the amount to be determined by the Council by resolution, but in no event shall the bond be less than $10,000.00 The City shall pay the cost of the bond.
