CHAPTER 17

42 - PUBLIC RECREATION OVERLAY OZ-PR DISTRICT

17.42.010 - Purpose.

This district implements the public recreation zoning designation, which is intended to reserve certain areas owned or controlled by a public or quasi-public agency for either passive or active public recreation use. As an overlay district, the PRO district may be combined with any other district established by this title, and the provisions of this chapter shall be in addition to the provision for the underlying district.

17.42.020 - Permitted uses.

The following uses are permitted outright within the PRO district, subject to compliance with all other applicable requirements of Darrington Municipal Code.

A.

Public parks, trails picnic areas and playgrounds, but including amusement parks, golf courses, or commercial recreation.

B.

Recreation facilities (public) including, but not limited to, sports fields, community centers, and golf courses.

C.

Schools, preschools, elementary, junior, and senior high schools (public).

17.42.030 - Basic development standards.

Development standards for the PRO district shall be as specified by this title for the underlying district.
