ARTICLE XII

AGRICULTURAL/CONSERVATION ZONE

Sec. 1200.1 - Statement of purpose.

This district is provided in order to assign a zoning classification to land used for agricultural, farming, dairying stock-raising forestry, orchards, or similar purposes rather than leave land so used without a zoning classification. This district is also intended to provide for very large rural or semi-rural residential lots which may or may not be assigned to land in fringe areas which is not ready for intensive urban development, hence conservation zone. It is also the intention to prohibit business commercial, industrial, or other similar non-agricultural or non-residential uses.

Sec. 1200.2 - Permitted principal uses.

A.

Single-family dwelling.

B.

Agriculture, farming, dairying, stock-raising forestry, orchards, greenhouses.

C.

Barns and other agricultural buildings and structures required to serve the farm on which they are located.

D.

Sawmills.

E.

Golf courses, and other recreational uses, such as parks and athletic fields.

F.

Schools and church houses.

G.

Cemeteries.

H.

Retail sales of agricultural products and services produced on the premises.

Sec. 1200.3 - Permitted accessory uses.

A.

Private garage;

B.

Roadside stand;

C.

Any use customarily associated with agriculture and farming;

D.

Recreational facilities;

E.

Essential services.

Sec. 1200.4 - General design and improvement standards.

All developments within this zone shall comply with the appropriate standards set forth in Article IV of this ordinance.

Sec. 1200.5 - General development regulations.

All developments within this zone shall comply with the appropriate standards set forth in Article III of this ordinance.
