PROHIBITED USES.
In all Districts, no building, structure or lot shall be used in whole or in part for any of the following uses:
Abattoir, except a plant owned and operated by the municipality.
Acetylene gas manufacture or storage, other than as an accessory use.
Acid manufacture.
Aluminum powder manufacture.
Ammonia manufacture, other than as an accessory use.
Animal black or animal charcoal manufacture.
Arsenal.
Blacking manufacture, other than as an accessory use.
Blast furnace.
Bleaching powder manufacture.
Bone distillation or processing; bone black manufacture.
Brick yard.
Bronze powder manufacture.
Burlap manufacture.
Carbon products manufacturing other than as an accessory use.
Carborundum manufacture.
Celluloid manufacture other than as an accessory use.
Cellulose products manufacture other than as an accessory use.
Cement manufacture.
Chemical wood pulp manufacture.
Chlorine manufacture.
Coal distillation or the manufacture of coal products.
Coke oven.
Convertor furnace.
Cotton picker.
Creosote manufacture or application other than as an accessory use.
Dextrine manufacture.
Disinfectant manufacture.
Dry kiln other than as an accessory use.
Dump, excepting where it is used exclusively by manufacturing industry or if owned and operated by the municipality.
Dye or dyestuff manufacture.

Fat rendering or refining.
Fertilizer manufacture or compounding.

Gasoline storage—subject to State of Connecticut statutes.
Glucose manufacture.
Glue manufacture.
Grease rendering.
Gypsum manufacture.
Hide processing.
Incinerator for reduction of dead animals, except a plant owned and operated by the municipality.
Insecticide or rodent poison manufacture.
Ivory black manufacture or storage in quantities exceeding 20 pounds.
Lampblack manufacture.
Lard rendering or refining.
Lime kiln or lime products manufacture.
Linoleum manufacture.
Linseed oil crushing and refining and the manufacture of products therefrom.
Match manufacture.
Naphtha storage subject to State of Connecticut statutes.
Offal processing.
Oil cloth manufacture.
Oil refining.
Ore reduction or smelting other than as an accessory use.
Organic chemical manufacture.
Oxygen manufacture.
Paper manufacture.
Patent leather manufacture.
Petroleum refining.
Plaster of Paris manufacture.
Poison gas manufacture.
Potash preparation or refining.
Pyroxylin manufacture, processing, or use of intermediates.
Radium preparation.
Rear dwelling, as defined in Section 30-20-600.
Roofing manufacture involving asphaltic or tar products.
Rosin manufacturing.
Rubber manufacture or reclaiming.
Saw mill, except entirely within an enclosed building.
Sewage disposal plant, excepting where it is used by manufacturing industry or if owned and operated by the municipality.
Shellac manufacture.
Shoe polish or shoe blacking manufacture.
Size manufacture.
Skin curing, dressing, or tanning.
Snuff manufacture.
Soap and soap powder manufacture.
Starch manufacture.
Stockyard, except as an accessory to a municipal abattoir.
Stove polish manufacture.
Sugar manufacture or refining.
Tallow rendering or refining.
Tar distillation.
Tar roofing or tar waterproofing manufacture.
Turpentine refining.
White lead manufacture.
Wood distillation.
Wood pulling and scouring.
Yeast manufacture.
Zinc white preparation.
Any use not specified as a permitted use, special exception use, accessory use, permitted home occupation use, or use by temporary permit are prohibited uses including, but not limited to, correctional facilities, alternate incarceration centers, half-way houses, pawn shops and check cashing establishments.
