Penalties
§ 125-82 Penalties for offenses.

Any violation of this chapter is a violation with a civil penalty not exceeding $250. Each week's continued violation shall constitute a separate additional violation. A first violation shall be deemed to have occurred from the date of written notification of violation issued by the enforcement officer or from such date as may be designated in such written notice.
§ 125-83 Complaints of violations.
Whenever a violation of this chapter occurs, any person may file a complaint in regard thereto. All such complaints must be in writing and shall be filed with the enforcement officer (or other enforcing officer), who shall properly record such complaint and immediately investigate any report thereon.
§ 125-84 Action on complaints; appearance tickets.

A.
Upon the complaint of any owner, tenant, resident, citizen or other person or upon the enforcement officer having reasonable cause to believe that a violation of this chapter has been committed, the enforcement officer may issue and serve an appearance ticket for such violation. The appearance ticket shall be in a form prescribed by the Town Board, by resolution, in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
B.
An answer to such appearance ticket shall be made within five days of the violation in person or by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested, in lieu of a personal appearance on a return date at the time and court specified in the appearance ticket.
