Saint Leo City Zoning Code

ARTICLE I

- IN GENERAL

Sec. 1.1.- Purpose.

To prescribe, regulate, restrict and limit for the purposes of (1) promoting the public health, safety and general welfare, high water quality in Lake Jovita (Clear Lake), an aesthetically desirable environment with recognition of important visual corridors, and (2) implementation of the mandates of the comprehensive plan, and the conclusions of the report on nonpoint pollution and the report on sewage disposal system, regulations of and restrictions upon the erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair or use of buildings, structures or land, including the regulations and restrictions of the height, number of stories, and size of buildings and other structures, the maximum number of families that may be housed in dwellings, the size of yards, courts and other open spaces, the density of population, and the location and use of such buildings, structures and land for trade, industry, residence, institutions, agriculture, or other purposes; and for said purposes to divide the Town of St. Leo into zones or districts of such number, shape and area as are deemed best suited to carry out the said purposes; and to provide methods of administration and enforcement and to provide penalties for violations of the provisions; it is hereby ordained as follows.

Sec. 1.2. - Short title.

This ordinance shall be known and should be cited as the "Town of St. Leo Land Development Code."
