PLANNING
(a)
The town hereby designates its town commission as its local planning agency to be responsible for the preparation of the comprehensive plan for the town and for the preparation of materials, documents and criteria required by the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act, F.S. § 163.2511 et seq.
(b)
That the town retains for itself and the designated local planning agency all rights, duties and responsibilities allowed under its charter and ordinances with regard to planning within its geographic boundaries, but wishes to coordinate its functions with those of other state and local planning agencies, relative to surrounding areas.

The town adopts the Comprehensive Plan 2025, and as may be amended.

(a)
The town attorney shall provide the local planning agency with all requirements of state statutes and rules which require publication of notices and advertisements in newspapers of general circulation to assure that real property owners are put on notice of proposed action to be taken by the town commission concerning comprehensive planning and the town clerk shall assure that these notices are published in a timely fashion.
(b)
The local planning agency meeting schedule will be published and posted in the town at all the locations where the town normally posts public notice.
(c)
There shall be available at all local planning agency meetings, at all town commission meetings, and at all times in the office of the town clerk, public comment forms which may be used by the public to provide written comments to the local planning agency and to the town commission concerning any portion of the present comprehensive plan or proposed amendments to the comprehensive plan. Any written comments received from the public shall be presented to the local planning agency and to the town commission at their next respective meetings.
(d)
All notices of the local planning agency meetings or town commission meetings concerning action on the comprehensive plan shall invite the public to attend and make comments.

The town clerk shall keep written minutes of the local planning agency meetings as well as the town commission meetings and shall maintain in a file available to the public, minutes of all local planning agency meetings, and minutes of all town commission meetings and all town commission meetings and all comprehensive plan supporting data, and planning documents developed by the local planning agency and the town commission.

The comprehensive plan shall be updated and/or amended pursuant to the requirements of F.S. ch. 163.
