ARTICLE 7

- PROFESSIONAL DISTRICT PI

Section 8-3007-1.- Purpose.

This district is established to provide areas for the development of structures for professional services which complement the character of adjacent districts. This district is not intended to accommodate general and highway oriented commercial uses or residential uses, but rather to serve as a transition between more intensely developed commercial areas and residential districts.

Section 8-3007-2. - Permitted uses.

The following uses are permitted in R-3 districts subject to the provisions of article 14, section 8-3014-5:

(a)

Any use permitted in [the] R-3 district.

(b)

Physicians, lawyers, engineers, architects, accountants and similar professional uses which may occupy an entire building or group of buildings, excluding veterinarians.

(c)

Commercial and retail uses which are incidental to the above professional practices, e.g., prescription shops and optical sales.

(d)

Accessory buildings and uses of structures customarily incidental to any permitted use, provided such structures are located in the rear yard and not less than five feet from any property line.

(e)

Signs, subject to the provisions of section 8-3013-13.

(f)

Special exceptions, as prescribed in section 8-3013-1.
