CHAPTER 11

OCCUPANCY LIMITATIONS FOR RESIDENTIAL AND MOBILE HOME DISTRICTS

12-11-1: FLOOR AREA FOR SLEEPING PURPOSES:

In all structures in all residential districts and mobile home districts, every room occupied for sleeping purposes by one occupant shall contain at least seventy (70) square feet of floor area, and every room occupied for sleeping purposes by more than one person shall contain at least fifty (50) square feet of floor area for each occupant thereof.

12-11-2: PROHIBITED AREAS FOR SLEEPING PURPOSES:

In all structures in all residential districts and mobile home districts, kitchens, attics, dining rooms, unfinished basements, garages, bathrooms and interior public areas shall not be used or occupied for sleeping purposes.

12-11-3: TEMPORARY/TRANSIENT RESIDENTS:

In all structures in all residential districts and mobile home districts, no more than five (5) lodgers or boarders for no more than ninety (90) days in any one 180-day period in addition to the occupying family may occupy a space designed for a single family. This section shall not prohibit the establishment of residential care facilities when licensed by the State of Illinois and allowed by ordinance.
