52 - FENCES
Sections:
Except as hereinafter provided, it is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect or maintain upon any lot line within the village limits any partition fence of wood, metal or any other material or substance that shall exceed the height of six feet above ground level.

No fence shall be erected between the established building line and the front lot line in any area zoned for residential purposes.

The erection or maintenance of any fence or partition contrary to the provisions hereof is hereby declared to be a nuisance.

The owner or occupant of any property located within B commercial districts or I industrial districts may erect or maintain a fence in excess of the height limitations provided for herein, after having first obtained a special permit to erect such excess height fence from the president and board of trustees, who may issue such permit in their legislative discretion.

After the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, every fence within the village shall be so constructed that its supporting posts are located on the interior side thereof.

Before any fence is erected, a permit therefor shall be first obtained from the building commissioner. A permit fee of fifteen dollars shall be changed for each fence to be erected.
