ADVISORY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

The city council finds that city created advisory boards and commissions serve the public interest through community interaction, fact finding, and by bringing forth the expertise of diverse community and business leaders. In order to ensure that the efforts of these advisory boards and commissions are not wasted, and to ensure that each such board or commission is recognized for its achievements, the council finds that each such advisory board or commission should make a written annual report to the council.

Notwithstanding anything in the Ordinance Code to the contrary, all advisory boards and commissions serving the city shall prepare and serve upon the council an annual report describing the board or commission's present goals, the year's achievements and accomplishments, and such other matters of significant public interest selected by the board or commission.

All advisory boards and commissions shall serve their annual reports required by section 20-22 upon the council no later than June 30 of each year.
