- ZONING CHANGES AND ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION AMENDMENTS
The City Council of Eastman may from time to time amend, supplement, or change by ordinance or resolution, the boundaries of the zoning districts established on the official zoning map or the regulations set forth in this ordinance and resolution. Any proposed amendment, supplement, or change shall first be submitted to the planning commission for its recommendation.

Any person or persons other than the city council or planning commission desiring to submit a petition requesting a change in zoning shall file such petition with a plat of property attached thereto, together with a payment to cover administrative and advertising costs, with the appropriate governmental agent.

The agent shall advertise such public hearing on said petition in a newspaper of general circulation in Dodge County, Georgia, giving at least fifteen (15) days notice of the time and place of the hearing.

The public hearing shall be held by the planning commission as the agent of the city council, and the petitioner and/or his agent with copies of the plat shall be present to answer any questions of the planning commission and/or general public that may be present.

The planning commission shall accept or deny the petition.

All territory which may hereafter be annexed to the City of Eastman shall be classified in the R-1 Single-Family Residential District until otherwise classified by ordinance or unless a different classification is called for in the annexation ordinance.
