ARTICLE 57

- PI, PUBLIC INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT

Sec. 57-1.- Purpose.

(a)

To ensure that the public, semi-public and institutional use of property is related to the purposes and policies of the comprehensive plan.

(b)

To recognize the public, semi-public and institutional nature of particular parcels of land and provide standards and guidelines for their continued use and future development.

(c)

To ensure that the public, semi-public and institutional structures and developments in the district will be compatible with surrounding districts and uses.

Sec. 57-2. - Permitted uses.

Table 57.1 lists the permitted, conditional, interim and accessory uses for the public institutional districts.

Table 57.2 establishes lot and building regulations for the residential districts, except as otherwise expressly stated in this zoning ordinance.

Sec. 57-4. - Design standards.

Themes for design, architecture, parking lot design, pedestrian/bicycle access, environment, utilities and signage shall be reviewed for their accordance with the design standards manual referenced in article 35 of this Appendix E.
