ARTICLE 2

GENERAL

§ 1 Districts and regulations generally.

The zoning regulations and districts as set forth in this ordinance are hereby approved and established and no building, structure or premises shall be hereafter used, and no building or structure shall be hereafter erected, altered or enlarged which is intended or designed to be used in whole or in part except in conformity with the rules and regulations herein prescribed for the district in which such building, structure or premises is located as shown by the city zoning map.

§ 2 Districts enumerated; city divided into districts.

The City of Mercedes is hereby divided into fourteen (14) [sixteen (16)] districts, termed respectively:
(1) 
Class “N” District;
(2) 
Class “A” Single-Family [Residence] District;
(3) 
Class “A-1” Single-Family Residence District;
(4) 
Class “A-2” Single-Family Residence District;
(4a) 
[(MD-SFR) Moderate Density - Single-Family Residential;]
(5) 
Class “B” Two-Family Res. Dist.;
(6) 
Class “B-1” Two Family Res. Dist.;
(7) 
Class “C” Apartment Dist.;
(8) 
Class “C-1” Apartment Dist.;
(9) 
Class “L” Local Retail Dist.;
(10) 
Class “A” Business Dist.;
(11) 
Class “B” Business Dist.;
(11a) 
[Class “B-1” Business District;]
(12) 
Class “C” Business Dist.;
(13) 
Class “A” Industrial Dist.; and
(14) 
Class “B” Industrial District.
All of which are fully designated upon the Zoning Map hereinafter set forth in this ordinance and hereby declared to be a part hereof for all purposes, and all notations, references, legends and information shown upon said Zoning Map are declared to be a part hereof to the same extent as if said matters and information were set forth in words and figures herein.
