ARTICLE 24

PENALTY FOR VIOLATION

§ 1 Generally.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate the provisions of this ordinance or fail to comply therewith or with any of the requirements thereof, or who shall build or alter any building or use in violation of any detailed statement or plan submitted and approved hereunder, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be liable to a fine in accordance with the general penalty provided in section 1.01.009 of the Code of Ordinances and each day that such violation shall be permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
The owner or owners of any building or premises or a part thereof, where anything in violation of this ordinance shall be placed or shall exist, and any architect, builder, contractor, agent, person, firm, association or corporation employed in connection therewith and who may have assisted in violation shall be guilty of a separate offense and upon conviction shall be fined as hereinabove provided.

§ 2 Grounds for continuation of case.

A violator of these rules and regulations shall not plead failure to ask for a variance from the board of adjustment or a change in the Zoning Map from the city planning and zoning commission as a reason for continuation of case in court.
