CHAPTER 17

18 - PROVISIONS GOVERNING THE OPEN SPACE OS DISTRICT

17.18.010 - Preamble.

The open space (OS) district is established to provide a proper setting for recreational activities typically undertaken on large open tracts of land.

17.18.020 - Uses permitted.

A.

Golf courses including appurtenances such as club houses and related restaurant facilities, maintenance facilities, driving ranges and other recreational activities and necessary parking facilities.

B.

Bona fide agricultural uses including horticulture, forestry, crop and tree farming, gardening and nursery operations; provided, however, that agricultural activities involving the breeding and raising of livestock, poultry and other animals shall not be permitted.

C.

Public or private parks.

D.

Accessory buildings and uses.

17.18.030 - Special uses.

The following uses shall be allowed by special use permit:

A.

Community buildings, utility and public service buildings and lands, libraries, schools and museums, picnic grounds, religious, educational or charitable institutions.

B.

Cemeteries.

C.

Mausoleums, if not located within five hundred feet of any existing residence or residence district established by this title.

17.18.040 - Required lot area and lot widths.

A.

All uses shall have a minimum lot area of ten acres.

B.

All uses shall have a minimum lot width of two hundred feet.

17.18.050 - Building height regulations.

Golf course clubhouses shall not exceed forty-five feet in height. All other structures shall not exceed twenty-five feet in height.

17.18.060 - Yard requirements.

All structures shall have a minimum front yard of fifty feet from the property line or one hundred feet from the centerline if on a federal, state, county or township road, whichever is greater.
