84 ZONING USE DISTRICTS AND MAP

17.84.010: ZONES ESTABLISHED:

For the purposes of this title, the territory of the City to which this title applies is divided into the following zoning districts:
   Smelter Site Overlay District SSOD
   Open Space District O-S
   Agricultural District A-1
   Single-Family Medium Density Residential District R-1-6
   Single-Family Low Density Residential District R-1-8
   Single-Family Low Density Residential District R-1-10
   Single-Family Low Density Residential District R-1-12
   Medium Density Residential District R-2-10
   Multiple-Family Low Density Residential District R-M-10
   Multiple-Family Medium Density Residential District R-M-15
   Multiple-Family High Density Residential District R-M-20
   Multiple-Family High Density Residential District R-M-25
   Residential Mobile Home District R-M-H
   Residential Neighborhood Business District R-N-B
   General Office District G-O
   Mixed Use Development District M-U
   Hospital District H
   Manufacturing General District M-G
   Commercial Neighborhood District C-N
   Commercial Development Mixed Use District C-D
   Transit Oriented Development District TOD
   City Center Form Based Code District CC-FBC
   Business Park District B-P

17.84.020: ZONING MAPS:

The geographic area of the City is zoned by this title as shown on the zoning map on file with the Planning Commission in the Community Development Division, and such map is made by this reference, as such, a part of this title as if fully described and detailed herein. (Ord. 07-30 § 2)

17.84.030: FILING OF ORDINANCE AND MAP:

The ordinance(s) codified in this title and zoning map shall be filed in the custody of the Recorder's Office of the City and may be examined by the public subject to the reasonable regulations established by the Recorder's Office. (Ord. 07-30 § 2)

17.84.040: RULES FOR LOCATING BOUNDARIES:

   A.   Where uncertainty exists as to the boundary of any district, the following rules shall apply:
      1.   Wherever the district boundary is indicated as being approximately upon the centerline of a street, alley, or block, or along a property line, then, unless otherwise definitely indicated on the map, the centerline of such street, alley, block, or such property line, shall be construed to be the boundary of such district;
      2.   Wherever such boundary line of such district is indicated as being approximately at the line of any river, irrigation canal or other waterway, or railroad right-of-way, or public park or other public land, or any section line, then in such case the center of such stream, canal or waterway, or of such railroad right-of-way, or the boundary line of such public land or such section line shall be deemed to be the boundary of such district;
      3.   Where such district boundary lines cannot be determined by the above rules, their location may be found by the use of the scale appearing upon the map.
   B.   Where the application of the above rules does not clarify the district boundary location, the Planning Commission shall interpret the map. (Ord. 07-30 § 2)

17.84.050: STANDARD LAND USE CODE:

The Standard Land Use Code for Murray City, Utah, is adopted by reference and incorporated herein for all purposes. (Ord. 07-30 § 2)

17.84.060: USES NOT DESIGNATED:

   A.   Uses that are not listed in a zoning district’s list of permitted or conditional uses are determined to be prohibited.
   B.   A use that is similar to another use but is not specifically designated shall be considered in accordance with section 17.76.020 of this title. (Ord. 24-30: Ord. 07-30 § 2)
