To establish areas in open and generally underdeveloped lands where only developments of an open space character would be permitted in order to preserve, maintain and protect open space resources; and to encourage development of a comprehensive network of permanent, multifunctional publicly and privately owned open spaces in the city. Regulations of this district are prohibitive and designed to protect these greenbelt open spaces from encroachment of residential, commercial and industrial uses which are contrary to the public interest.    A.   All uses and structures contained herein are listed by number as designated in the standard land use code published and maintained by the planning department.

   B.   The following uses are permitted in the O-S zone:

4800   Utilities (lines and rights of way only) (except 4850).

5913   Medical cannabis pharmacy.

6700   Governmental services (except 6714, 6740, 6750, 6770).

7410   Sport activities (except 7416, 7417).

7420   Playgrounds and athletic areas (except 7425).

7430   Swimming areas.

7442   Boat rentals and boat access sites.

7443   Sports fishing activities.

7492   Picnicking areas.

7600   Parks.

   C.   Accessory buildings which are customarily used in conjunction with and are incidental to the principal uses and structures allowed in the O-S zone.

The following uses and structures are permitted in the O-S zone only after a conditional use permit has been approved by the planning commission and subject to the terms and conditions thereof:

4700   Communications.

4800   Utilities (except lines and rights of way).

6242   Cemeteries.

6800   Educational services.

7100   Cultural activities.

7211   Amphitheaters.

7220   Sports assembly.

7230   Public assembly.

7310   Fairgrounds.

7416   Riding academies.

7490   Recreation.

Minimum width of any side yard for main or accessory buildings shall be ten feet (10') and the total width of the two (2) required side yards shall be not less than twenty five feet (25'). On corner lots, the side yard facing a street shall be not less than twenty feet (20') for any building. (Ord. 07-30 § 2)

Minimum depth of the front yard for all buildings shall be twenty five feet (25'). All accessory buildings shall be located at the rear of and at least six feet (6') from the main building. (Ord. 07-30 § 2)

Minimum rear yard for all main buildings shall be twenty five feet (25'), and for all accessory buildings ten feet (10'). (Ord. 07-30 § 2)
