CHAPTER 17

32 INDUSTRIAL ZONE - LIGHT

17.32.010 Purpose

The purpose of the light industrial zoning district is to provide for and encourage the development and grouping together of light industrial uses that include manufacturing, production, industrial assembly, logistics, storage, warehousing, salvage operations, heavy equipment repair, commercial kennels.

17.32.020 Uses Allowed

Each proposed business will be evaluated on whether it fits into one of the above-listed categories. If the business does fit, it will be allowed if all other provisions of this code are met. If the business does not fit into one of the above-listed categories but is not explicitly forbidden, the business owner may apply for a Special Use Permit.

Sanitary LandfillsCommercial Sewage Treatment
Raising/Processing Fur-Bearing AnimalsAny New Residential Use Whether Permanent or Temporary
Composting/IncinerationRefineries and Smelting Plants
Retail Sales Without Industrial ComponentChildcare/Schools
Toxic or Medical Waste, Explosives, or Other Hazardous Material Storage or Production

Note: *A Special Use Permit may allow residential use in an existing structure by a caretaker

Note: Special Uses may be granted pursuant to PMC 17.40, subject to the ability of political subdivisions, including the City and school districts, to provide services for the proposed use, and when it is not in conflict with the comprehensive plan
