CHAPTER 17

04 GENERAL PROVISIONS

17.04.010: PURPOSE:

The regulations and zoning restrictions set forth in this title are for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, morals and general welfare of the inhabitants, present and future and of the taxpayers and visitors of the city, by the orderly development of the city, beneficial uses of land, and preservation of the environment of residential and commercial areas and the unique, scenic, natural, historic and rustic western character of the city. 17.04.020: LIABILITY:

This title shall not be construed to hold the city responsible for any damage to persons or property by reason of the inspection or reinspection authorized in this title, or failure to inspect or reinspect or by reason of issuing a building permit as herein provided. (Ord. 44, 1977)

17.04.030: HEARING; NOTICE:

Whenever any public hearing relative to this title is to be conducted by the city council, at least fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing, notice of the time and place and summary of the subject of the hearing shall be published in the official city newspaper or in a newspaper of general circulation within the city. Copies of the notice shall also be posted in three (3) conspicuous public places within the city, and copies shall be mailed to adjoining landowners, when appropriate. (Ord. 44, 1977)
