As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ACCESSORY BUILDINGA building, the use of which is customarily incidental and secondary to that of the principal building, such as a private garage, and tool house or children's playhouse.
ACCESSORY USEA use, not otherwise contrary to law, customarily incidental and secondary to the use of a building.
BASAL AREAA unit of measurement of the density of a timber stand.
BUILDINGA structure, but not a mobile home, built for the support, shelter, or enclosure of persons, animals, chattels, or property of any kind and having a fixed base on, or fixed condition to the ground.
DWELLINGA building designed or used exclusively as the living quarters for one or more families, including a mobile home, as provided herein.
DWELLING UNITOne or more rooms in a building designed for occupancy by one family and having not more than one cooking facility.
HOME OCCUPATIONAny use customarily conducted entirely within a dwelling, provided that such use is carried on by the residents of the dwelling and is clearly incidental and secondary to the use of the dwelling for dwelling purposes.
LANDINGAn area where harvested trees are concentrated for pickup and removal from the site.
LOTA parcel or tract of land.
LOT, CORNERA lot abutting on two or more streets at their intersection.
LOT DEPTHThe depth of a lot is the mean distance from its front lot line to its rear lot line, measured in the general direction of its side lot lines.
LOT LINEThe property line bounding a lot.
LOT LINE, FRONTThe boundary of a lot which is along the main existing or proposed right-of-way. In the case of a corner lot, the line having the least dimension along a right-of-way or street shall be designated as the "front lot line."
LOT LINE, REARThe lot line which is opposite and most distant from the front lot line. In the case of an irregular, triangular or other shaped lot, a line 10 feet in length within the lot parallel to and at a maximum distance from the front lot line.
LOT WIDTHThe average horizontal distance between the side lot lines, ordinarily measured parallel to the front lot line.
MOBILE HOMEA transportable, single-family dwelling, over 35 feet in length, intended for permanent occupancy, office or place of assembly contained in one unit, or in two units designed to be joined into one integral unit capable of again being separated for repeated towing, which arrives at a site complete and ready for occupancy except for minor and incidental unpacking and assembly operations, and constructed so that it may be used without a permanent foundation.
MOBILE HOME LOT OR STANDA parcel of land in a mobile home park, improved with the necessary utility connections and other appurtenances necessary for the erection thereon of a single mobile home, which is leased by the park owner to occupants of the mobile home located on the lot.
MOBILE HOME PARKA parcel of land under single ownership which has been planned and improved for the placement of mobile homes and recreation vehicles for transient and nontransient use, consisting of at least 10 mobile home lots.
PLATThe map or plan of a subdivision or land development, whether preliminary or final.
RECREATION VEHICLEA vacation trailer or other vehicular or portable unit less than 35 feet long which is either self-propelled or towed or is carried by a motor vehicle and which is intended for human occupancy and is designed for vacation or recreational purposes but not permanent use.
SKID ROADA roadway constructed solely for the purpose of moving harvested trees to a landing.
STREETA public right-of-way for vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
STRUCTUREAny man-made object having an ascertainable stationary location on or in land or water, whether or not affixed to the land.
USEThe specific purpose for which any land or building is designed, arranged, intended, or for which it is or may be occupied or maintained.
YARDAn open space or lot which is unobstructed from the ground upward except as otherwise provided in this chapter.
YARD, FRONTThe ground space on a lot between the street right-of-way line and the nearest point of the principal building or use, extending to the side boundaries of the lot and in residential districts unoccupied except for fences and/or other decorative or landscaping uses.
YARD, REARThe ground space on a lot between the rear line of the lot and the nearest point of a building or use, extending to the side boundaries of the lot.
YARD, SIDEA yard between the front and rear yard, measured at right angles from the side lot line to the nearest point of a building.
