W Conservancy District.
(1)
Intent. The W district is intended to preserve the natural state of scenic areas in the city and to prevent uncontrolled, uneconomical spread of residential development and to help discourage intensive development of marginal lands so as to prevent potential hazards to public and private property.
(2)
Permitted uses. The following are permitted uses:
(a)
Management of forestry, wildlife and fish.
(b)
Harvesting of wild crops such as marsh hay, ferns, moss, berries, tree fruits and tree seeds.
(c)
Hunting, fishing and trapping.
(3)
Conditional uses. The following uses may be permitted, subject to the provisions of section 17.04:
(a)
Sewage disposal plant, water storage and pumping facilities, golf courses and seasonal public camping grounds.
(b)
Dams, power stations and transmission lines, and water storage facilities.
(c)
Parks and general recreational areas.
(d)
Gravel or sand pits and quarries, including the washing and grading of products.
(e)
Uses similar and customarily incident to any of the uses in subsections (3)(a) through (d) of this section.
