ARTICLE 12

300. - DISTRICTS

[Sec. 12.301. - Division of city into districts.]

For the purposes of regulating and restricting the location of trades, industries, and other uses and the location of buildings designed, erected, altered or occupied for such specific purposes, the City of Galena Park, Texas, is hereby divided into nine districts as follows:

(1)

District "A" - Single-Family Residences.

(2)

District "B" - Single-Family Residences.

(3)

District "C" - Two-Family Dwelling Districts.

(4)

District "D" - Apartment House.

(5)

District "E" - Secondary Business District.

(6)

District "F" - Business.

(7)

District "G" - Light Industrial.

(8)

District "H" - Heavy Industrial.

(9)

District "I" - Special.

The boundaries of the districts are shown upon the official zoning map, which is here referred to and made a part of this article. It shall be the duty of the city engineer to keep on file in his office said official map and to make thereon all changes, amendments, and additions thereto. When definite distances in feet are now shown on the zoning map, the district boundaries are to be along existing streets, alleys, or platted lot lines or extensions of same, or according to scale as shown on said zoning map. When the streets or alleys on the ground differ from the street or alleys, as shown on the zoning map, the streets or alleys on the ground shall control.

Whenever any street or alley is vacated, the boundaries of the particular district in which the property lies that fronts on any such street or alley shall automatically be extended to the center line of any such street or alley.
